On
another sultry hot evening riders attacked a shorter than usual course for
Bulwick, virtually pan flat with only 100ft of "climbing" per lap. It was
punishing on the body though and there were many punctures and several comedy
crashes in the rutted field of doom.
Yet another Jack rabbit start saw
Peterson sprint from the line in a mass of bouncing Intense, good job too as
the narrow track led to some carnage behind as Stu Knubley and Phil Topliss hit
the deck in a pile up. The front soon settled down to a four man train.
Keith Sperry, Paul Robertson, Nige Scott and Phil Hughes taking it in turns to
pull them along to keep a gap on the chasers of Jack, Lewis Harris, Ian
Whatling and Fenboy Martyn.
Keith kept up the relentless pace to win and
now top the Veterans field, while Paul grabbed his first win from Nige. Ian
and Martyn punctured while holding top 3 places in their classes, a steady
riding Lloyd Bettles cruised in to 3rd saving himself for the following days
national. Phil well he suffered a most spectacular blow up as his body shut
down and he crawled in for 5th. Paul Brown grabbed a FNSS personal best of 5th
on the last lap.
Lewis Harris cruised to a Junior win and Nadine
Spearing topped a massive ladies field.
