The original build plan was led by the idea of surviving with one bike only, then get by on the disc brakes and acres of mud clearance to get me through. I raced it pretty hard for a season to see what it was all about, and the bike proved superb giving me some technical edge to compensate for not being able to match the fast boys for speed. |

Even won Cash at the national Championships thanks to a very tricky Sutton Park course. The bike has proved to be one of the most versatile machines I've owned. Its great for hammering to work, then taking the off road route when ever I fancy. I've even taken it round Afan's trails and had great fun. Its commuted with mudguards then been stripped to race the weekend. Its latest set up sees it with flat bars and 38mm tyres in a 29'er mode. Its proved a superb tool in trailquests, great speed on the tarmac sections, then the suppleness to cope with bridleway bashing for the checkpoints. I can see me strapping on a rack (mount holes are there) and doing some long overdue touring in future on it. |
