| Numplumz.com race team put themselves up against the best in the
country at the First round of the UK's premier Mountainbike championship at the
weekend. A realistic aim for all was to try and achieve a top twenty position, being gridded for round 2 the valuable prize of such a result. Not an easy task against a lot of sponsored riders from across the UK and Ireland. Lloyd Bettles, Adrian Scott and Jack Peterson all achieved their goal, and more. 4 laps of 7.5 miles was tough going, 2 hours of racing and was it fast. The experts did 5 laps the Elite 6 Ouch. |

Adi in the moonscape a great 13th place |
Jack grabbed a superb 11th and a hatfull of points, in a 4 man sprint
for the line. Shame the other two got away...next time Lloyd came through from a steady start to finally grab 20th on the line, whilst poor Smiffy had a track full of 150 riders to pass as he was demoted to last place whilst puncturing on lap1, then had to watch all the Vets fly by too. Thats one very full singletrack, and not a hope, he passed Shedloads though coming in 44th Bob came in 29th , surviving the distance on very little training so far this year. Ed had a Mair (cringe) as his crank came off repeatedly, but he soldiered on for 54th. at least you had two wheels Ed Craig blew the cobwebs away to take 39th in the sport class |
Smiffy - race ruined by a puncture and he's still smiling at 44th place |
Jack in about 20th place at the start of lap 1. The Surge gets an outing in full on XC mode. |
Jack passes Andrew Roberts/ Evans to take 17th on lap 2 |
Smiffy gets going after his puncture, if you look closely that bike actually floats, boy is that one light machine |
Lloyd on his last lap charge to 20th place |
Look at that huge gear, the new team kit is much needed we think. |
Mark Pearson tries out "Black for a day" Great 16th place in Sport and gridded for round 2. So how about it matey |
Neil Doubleard in the SS race, nice colour coordination there. |
One for Carl |
Ryan blows the Eastern Velo boys away to grab a fantastic 5th in Experts |
The mad Expert start, and no crashes |
The Elite's sprint finish Jody Crawfoth just pips teammate Sam Gardner with Oli just hiding in the trees. Those boys are probably still smiling now. |
