Aug 2004 - Sleeples in the Saddle 24 Hrs - Trentham Gardens.

The Plumz on their now Annual racing holiday, our new race tactics were baffling to say the least.
Think the John Smiths could have clouded our judgement a bit.

Indian showed all his recent riding in BC had paid off, we could not keep him off the track. Truth is with 300 teams out there it was too busy for us (and we had enough of the "when I was in BC" stories ;-) so we chilled in the Sun and forced him to stay out there.
It was fun heckling Adi anyway. What happened on that first lap boy?

The course just started to dry out in the early eve and produce a fast line as can be seen from the times then darkness messed that all up. Riders who carefully negotiated the sloppy bits in the light, found they just fell in them in the dark.

We enjoyed "persuading" other riders to carry on into the small hours, whilst keeping well hydrated ready for our big push.
Well done to the one and only rider who joined us for a mid laop beer, its nop suprise it was a Scotsman.
Mr Scream did a whole lap apparently chased by a Police helicopter search light in the woods just after midnight to liven things up.

Morning came and went for us.......a bit hazy, before we ripped the freshly modelled course to finish a superb 205th or something only 12 laps behind the winners.
Loads of photos in the Numplumz Gallery from our race day
The Bikemagic cameramen were there to check out, and the brighton crew did a really good race report those lights look sexy.

Adi and Ryan gave it everything in the chase of Rob Lee and Woddy in the pairs race, but the 25 min gap at the end saw them relax and suffer coming second a lap down. Great race though Guys.
Hey Adi, seems like Ryan might not have took it all seriously, this is how I found him one lap, posing for the ladeeze on the monument. Full results from Singletrack HERE
