Glentress - Scottish Borders |
|
| Several great trails, a
North shore style skills area, bike shop and Superb cafe THE HUB on site, make
it all worth the visit. |
|
| For full information and
weather, trail reports check out a great new area of the
thebicycleworks bike shop web site. Some more usefull info
can be found here they used to have a
full colour map on line too. |
|
Acommodation for Groups The Glentress Hotel is right on the parks entrance. We have stayed there several times, but the new owners seem to have priced it out of our budget at £30 each per night. For camping (don't forget the midge repellant) try the rosettacaravanpark a stones throw away fron the trails, showers are free. There's also a campsite in Innerleithen at Tweedside Caravan Park on Montgomery St, Tel 01896 831271 good facilities, not many pitches (quiet) but right at the bottom of the Innerleithen trails, accesible by a bridge over the river. |

Photos from a November visit. |
|
Location To get there, don't even consider the long haul North on the A1, it has to be the M6 every time. Head for Peebles and you can't miss it. How about from East Midlands by air to Edinburgh - £11.99. then hire a car, or cycle there? |
|
Nightlife Peebles is the Place, the indian is well recommended. £500 bill one night kept them Smiling. |
